Beyer, Barbara

Barbara Beyer is an artist who works with a variety of materials. She uses clay to explore basic sculptural processes. The ongoing series, Give and Take, started in 2021 and addresses the economy of making, such as cutting a line in the clay leading to a furrow and a rod, building material for a new shape. This group of distorted cubes was specifically made to sit by the brook, and references some of the retired mechanical objects left in the garden, in particular the iron roller and the water wheel.
