Abstracting a sculpture to its essence is profoundly absorbing and meditative; Lucy’s hands are merely the tools of her subconscious, bringing the work to life and the sculpture ‘Freedom’ acknowledges the first time she was aware of this sensation. Her family and the history of all who have lived on and worked the farm where they live are her main sources of inspiration.
