Neil MacGregor and Valerie Michael have an international reputation as designers and makers of fine, high quality leather goods, made completely by hand. “In the age of designer labels, surprisingly few people have ever been confronted by an object made entirely without machinery. They met as teenagers in Bristol at the end of the 1960s and within a couple of years opened a clothes and leather goods shop with no money, no experience but plenty of ‘can do’ attitude, inspired by the zeitgeist of their generation. Three years later, in 1974, they moved Tetbury.
