Phethean, Richard

A potter since 1980, Richard established a creative ceramic studio in West Cornwall in 2014. He is largely known for his strong thrown and altered forms with complex layers of slips. Recently he has embarked on a new series of works using carefully mixed graded tones of unglazed clay, thrown, altered and assembled to make thoughtful installations that evoke movement, growth and time.
