In Christian’s sculpture ‘Emerging’, the vessel emerging from the block is a metaphor for change, simultaneously containing the past and future. The metal frame serves as both support structure and visual reference of the stone that was carved away, also symbolising the ongoing support needed in difficult times, reminding us of our own fragility.
